Moonflowers’ Get Higher lands on 12-Inch vinyl via Reprise Records. A UK issue with a classic presentation that leans into the label’s distinctive aesthetic.

Why we rate it

Originally issued in a gatefold sleeve with a poster bearing “K 44088 Made in England” on the bottom-right corner. It features tan “steamboat” Reprise labels with the R logo in an orange square; no other catalogue number or “Made in England” appears on the labels. Publishing notes indicate all tracks are Warner Bros Music except B1, which is Acuff Rose. The notes also reference recording at Sunset Sound and Sound City, Hollywood, and at Neil’s home studio, Topanga, CA (Aug. 1969–June 1970), with many songs inspired by the Dead Stockwell–Herb Berman screenplay “After The Goldrush.” Some copies note a discrepancy: Side B6 appears as CRIPPLE CREEK FERRY on the label and CRIPPLED CREEK FERRY on the cover.
