Why we rate it

This is the first UK version for SXL2128, identified as an ED1 with black/silver grooved wideband labels and “ORIGINAL RECORDING BY” at 11 o’clock. The front‑laminated, scalloped flipback sleeve features the triangular “DECCA STEREOPHONIC” logos and Clarifoil lamination, printed in England 5‑59. Recorded 5–7 November 1958 at the Maison de la Chimie, Paris; sub‑tracks are not banded on the vinyl. Labels carry B.I.E.M. boxes and the matrix numbers are printed upside‑down—hallmarks prized by Decca collectors.
