Taking place for just one hour on the first Saturday of each month, this event promises to be a unique and enriching experience for all music enthusiasts, of any age, everyone is welcome.
Each month, we spotlight a single album, offering an in-depth exploration of its music, the artists behind it, and the captivating stories surrounding its creation.
This isn’t just a listening session; it’s an immersive journey into the essence of the album, guided by two industry veterans who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Dave Swallow, founder of AAA and a renowned sound engineer who has worked with legendary artists like Amy Whitehouse, Preja Ragu, and Erasure, will co-host the event alongside Phil Argent. Phil brings an impressive background of 12 years in the music retail industry, having managed Virgin Megastores across iconic cities like London, Oslo, and New York. Together, they’ll provide unparalleled insights and anecdotes, making each session a memorable experience.
To add to the excitement, the featured album will be available for purchase during the event.

July's Album of the Month at AAA
For our inaugural session in July, we couldn’t be more thrilled to present "Aja" by Steely Dan. This classic album is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time, offering a perfect blend of jazz, rock, and R&B. Released in 1977, "Aja" quickly became Steely Dan’s best-selling album, earning critical acclaim and cementing the band’s place in music history.
Steely Dan, formed by the dynamic duo of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, is known for their meticulous production and complex, jazz-influenced arrangements. "Aja" is often hailed as their magnum opus, featuring standout tracks like "Deacon Blues," "Peg," and the title track "Aja." Each song on the album showcases the band’s signature style, characterized by sophisticated musicianship and intricate lyrics that delve into themes of love, loss, and existential contemplation.
